Zoe Sano is a technical advisor in the firm’s Electrical and Mechanical Patent Prosecution group, where she focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications for domestic and international clients. Her expertise includes wireless communications, radio frequency (RF) technologies, antennas, automation engineering, control systems, electromagnetics, Internet of Things (IoT), wearable and smart devices, ergonomics, medical devices, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), 5G and 6G networks, Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies, semiconductors, memory and storage technologies, graphical user interfaces (GUIs), cloud computing, and software platforms.
Before joining Oblon, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, specializing in antennas and wireless communications. She served as captain of the varsity women’s soccer team and completed internships in automation engineering, design, and network infrastructure.
After graduation, Zoe worked as a patent engineer at a Colorado firm, drafting patent applications and responses to Office Actions for innovations in telecommunications, wearable technology, and semiconductor technologies. She collaborated closely with inventors and legal teams to identify patentable subject matter and develop strong intellectual property strategies.
